HOT DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

HOT DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

The dog days of summer are really, really HOT here in Scottsdale. Even with the summer heat in August we delivered over 80 grocery cards.  I was lucky enough to be able to leave town for a long weekend.

Before there was The Froth and Bubble Foundation for Food Assistance came into being I was able to come and go as I pleased.  But, with the schedule that was created to be able to deliver the grocery cards to 9 or 10 different places on Monday and Tuesday…I need to be back on Sunday so we can buy the cards, copy them, register them, and handwrite the notes that accompany every single card we give out.

A year ago in August I received my cancer diagnosis, and my, how things have changed.  I finally am feeling stronger from the radiation. The Doctors told me the radiation stays with you for 12 to 18 months. All I can say is that no wonder I am always hot. Cooking in the 100 plus degree temperatures outside and also cooking from the inside out.

While things definitely slowdown in August we still received several donations, and for that we are very grateful.  Thank you very much.

Off to September and who knows what that will bring.  Stay tuned!
