2018 Kindness Courage Review

2018 Kindness Courage Review

2018  –  A FROTH AND BUBBLE FOUNDATION REVIEW:

YOU WERE KIND AND YOU WERE COURAGEOUS

Here are a few of the highlights from our year.

We met a lot of very nice people at the clinics, hospitals, and Hospice who work with great dedication to help people with cancer.  They also work very diligently to help Froth and Bubble find the patients most in need. Almost 300 of them.

The Froth and Bubble Foundation, to date, has given out 1,025 grocery cards to cancer patients in need since we began in October of 2017.   We gave out 41 grocery cards in 4Q 17.  Keep that number in the back of your mind.

We received incredible donations from family and friends and foundations and complete strangers, too!  Over $100,000.00 for the year.  That is a lot of Froth and a lot of Bubble to share with those less fortunate. It takes a lot of Kindness and Courage as well to donate that money. We are a One-year old foundation.

The Board of Directors and friends of the Froth and Bubble Foundation put on GAP NIGHT 2018 in honor of one year of giving at the Harley-Davidson dealership in North Scottsdale. We didn’t sell tickets and we still raised some money.         The Harley-Davidson people in Scottsdale are Special!

Remember the 41 cards in 4Q of 2017.  In February of 2018 we gave away 43 grocery cards. In one month.  WAIT!  It gets better!

The week of December 17, 2018 was the week before Christmas when we handed out grocery cards for the Christmas holiday to the regularly scheduled patients, as well as extra patients with needs. We handed out 45 cards. In ONE WEEK!!!

Every patient we had on our list received a card. Whether it was a scheduled card or just an early distribution…all the people on the Froth and Bubble roster had something for their Christmas. We may not be able to give out 45 cards every week – yet – but at holidays we can find the money and bend the budget.

At Christmas we received something as well.  We received a donation from friends of ours who work at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, AZ.

This group decided to forego their annual exchange of Christmas gifts to donate that money to Froth and Bubble so that we could do more for more patients. They sure didn’t have to do that. Many of them had already donated when they attended our GAP NIGHT 2018.  There is a reason MD Anderson Cancer Center was voted Best Cancer hospital in the US in the 2018/2019 rankings by US News and World Reports.

The Froth and Bubble Foundation for Food Assistance now has an Advisory Board; to help advise us with advice.  Our first Advisory Board member is Gerrie Jakobs who works at Virginia G. Piper Cancer Centers and has over 25 years’ experience.  The truth is she was giving us advice and help anyway!!!  We are looking for another advisor from the world of food and grocery as well.  We want to be the best foundation we can be. The patients in this fight deserve that.

From the time we started in 4Q 2017 to the end of this year we have given out a little over $75,000.00 in grocery cards: Fry’s, Albertsons/Safeway and Basha’s.  Since we started, we have provided food to almost 300 patients and their families. It is a privilege to be invited on this journey through cancer with the brave souls who give us this honor during their personal battles.

We are looking forward to 2019 when we can do it all over. And more.  We hope your year was equally as rewarding. Here’s to your health and all good things.       A toast to this Froth and Bubble and to your own kindness and courage which supported us beyond our wildest dreams and expectations.  Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Jeff Lewis
