RIDE TO THE RESCUE JANUARY 2019
If you have been following goings on at Froth and Bubble you know that last October we celebrated our 1st annual GAP Night celebration in honor of the gratitude, appreciation and philanthropy with which we have been blessed to try and help cancer patients in need. It was a huge success. Other charities have raised so much more money. Other charities have so many really expensive and exotic auction items, give aways, and raffle prizes. But, ours was a huge success because we met some very nice people at Harley Davidson. Sam and Shelley are at the top of the list.
At the beginning of January, I received a call from Shelley to tell me that The Froth and Bubble Foundation was the recipient of a generous $2,000.00 grant from a group of philanthropic bikers called Bikers for Boobies. I went to The Dirty Dogg Saloon one Sunday afternoon, had a drink, and picked up a very lovingly raised check for this foundation.
For some people, Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. For me…I think it is with Shelley and Sam at Harley Davidson of Scottsdale. In fact, we had such a good time there, look for more news this year as to goings on.
The need for this foundation is known. The support is spreading and growing. Here are a few numbers. In January of 2018, we gave out 21 cards the entire month. The first week of January 2019 we gave out 23, and for the month we gave out 106 grocery cards. If we can give out….who am I kidding….we will give out 100 or more cards every month and our goal is to give out over 1200 grocery cards for the year. That would be a 20 % increase over 2018. It does take more money to give out more cards, but I am hopeful. And, you can not fight cancer without hope. Onward and upward. Fasten your helmet. Stay tuned.
