Wondering where we came from?
Here is the story of how the Froth and Bubble Foundation for Food Assistance was born…
After a simple blood test for a routine physical resulted in the need for a standard biopsy, Jeff became just one more person with cancer. He learned his diagnosis on August 2, 2017. It seems cancer is everywhere, and everyone has it or knows someone who has it.
After a few weeks to regroup, Jeff decided on ERBT radiation, a nine week, 45 day long process by which to eradicate the stage two prostate cancer. There were a few procedures he needed to have, but he began the daily treatments on Monday, September 18, 2017.
Friday, October 6, 2017 marked the end of the third week of radiation with his daily treks to the Arizona Prostate Center. He decided to bring three dozen donuts for the patients, staff and visitors. It was on that day Jeff became aware there were patients in that facility who faced the difficult decision of whether to buy food or medicine. There was one patient of which the staff was particularly aware. Jeff offered to pay for his groceries for the remainder of his treatments.
On Monday, October 9, 2017 the very first patient received the first gift card for food from what would become The Froth and Bubble Foundation for Food Assistance. Jeff learned there was a second patient who would be starting treatments in even worse financial stress.
Within 5 more weeks the foundation was formed. It has two clinics to identify the patients most in need. The second recipient is lined up and the holidays are right around the corner.
We will keep you updated with further news and events we have planned to help raise money for this cause that is close to the hearts of the founder and his family and friends. Of course, there is almost no one that hasn’t been touched by cancer in their lives.
