Princess Diana in Washington DC, 1996

There are more than a few words written about words.  For example:

A picture is worth a thousand words.  Actions speak louder than words.

“You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world’s happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps, you will forget tomorrow the kind words you said today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.”  Dale Carnegie

And, then we come to these lines of poetry of Froth and Bubble which I heard over 22 years ago in this news clip of Princess Diana.  And, I never forgot them. The truth is that I didn’t remember the occasion. I actually thought she was dressed in khakis in a tent in Africa. Maybe, she used the poetry more than once. I don’t know.  But, watch the clip. They are  words you can try and live by.

Diana attended a gala dinner to raise money for breast cancer research. 25.9.96

“Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone
Kindness in another’s troubles, and courage in your own”

I like words.  Stay tuned. More words and sayings to come.      JL  1-29-18
