65 in September

65 is not the number of cards we gave out….we gave out 79… I turned 65 in September and I learned a very valuable health lesson which I want to share with you. I am not dispensing medical advice, just an interesting tidbit.

So, Saturday the 15th I shared a wonderful dinner with family and friends. On the 18th I had a physical which was good except my blood sugars were high. They called and told me I could be pre-diabetic. I needed to come in for another blood test.  So, I went. Here’s what I learned. Saturday night I had a lot, as in A LOT of frosting. Spoonfuls. Bucketfuls!!! To make a long story short, when I went back my tests were all normal. So, the moral is to not eat a lot of birthday cake and frosting in the days leading up to your blood test.

We are celebrating an anniversary of sorts next month. I will let you know how it all turns out.  There is much for which to be grateful at The Froth and Bubble Foundation for Food Assistance. Pass the fruit!!!
